The Blue Light at Enoteca

Ashland quartet The Blue Light plays blues and R&B with some rock and reggae thrown in.

The band — drummer Max Malcomb, J.D. Brooks on guitar, Brandon Schilling on vocals and trumpet, and Nick Kirby on bass — is influenced by musicians Derek Trucks, B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix and Santana, to name a few. The members plan to head into the studio this summer to record their debut EP, with a tentative release by the end of the year. "We have all the characteristics of a young band," Malcomb says. "We just want to play and have fun."

The Blue Light performs at 7 p.m. Friday, April 25, at Enoteca Wine Tasting & Bistro, 17 N. Main St., Ashland. There is no cover.
