Weinberg a two-way all-state pick

Ashland High senior Nicky Weinberg has been named a first-team all-state selection on both offense and defense, and junior Chad Andrews was a second-team kicker.

Weinberg, a receiver and defensive back, is the first Grizzly to earn first-team honors on both sides of the ball since Austin Mason pulled off the rare feat as a tight end and linebacker in 1998.

Andrews was also an honorable mention punter.

Also earning honorable mention status for the Grizzlies were senior defensive end McKane Ellis, senior offensive lineman Kyle Rodden and junior offensive lineman Troy Boyd.
