Ashland Energy Assistance Applications Open For Low-Income Households

ASHLAND, Ore. — Ashland City Council’s program designed to help low-income residents cover their electric bills during the winter months has returned and qualifying residents will receive a credit on their electric bills. The applications are now open.

 

Ashland Low Income Energy Assistance Program

The Ashland Low Income Energy Assistance Program (ALIEP) was opened to residents on October 1 to apply for assistance to cover electricity bills in winter.

To qualify, the income of Ashland residents must be at or below 65 percent of Oregon’s median income. This is determined by household income and size. Features of the program include:

  • Qualifying residents will get a credit on their electric utility charges, with a maximum credit in each group of $300
  • Seniors and disabled individuals could get  as much as 50% off for up to six months
  • Other qualifying Ashland residents could also receive up to 50% off for as long as three months.
