Ashland Police Geared Up For Children’s Halloween Parade

ASHLAND, Ore. — The Ashland Police Department is gearing up to make this year’s  Ashland Chamber of Commerce Children’s Halloween Parade safe as well as fun for attendees.

Ashland Children’s Halloween Parade Details

At 3:30 p.m. today, the Halloween parade starts in front of the Ashland Public Library. From there, ghosts and ghouls will move west along East Main Street toward the Plaza.

Lithia Way will accommodate two-way traffic within the downtown corridor from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. as East Main Street between Gresham Street and Water Street will be closed for the parade.

As a safety precaution, from 3 p.m., all vehicles left parked within the closed area downtown will be towed but the affected areas will be clearly posted ahead of time.

As more and more people from across the valley go downtown at night to celebrate Halloween every year, there will be extra policing to make sure everyone has a good time. Surrounding agencies will be collaborating with the Ashland Police Department to monitor all evening activities downtown and enforcement will be administered strictly.

Acts such as disorderly conduct, public intoxication, consuming alcohol in public, open containers of alcohol in public, illegal drug use, or any other violations of state law and municipal code will be dealt with on the spot.

If you plan to shake your boo-ty downtown tonight, be safe and stick to the rules to make it a gourd night for everyone.
