Body Found In Salem Business District Regarded As Suspicious Death

SALEM, Ore. — A dead body found in a northeast Salem business district on Friday is being treated as a suspicious death by the Salem Police Department.

A body was found on Friday at around 10 a.m. Friday in a vacant lot in the 3000 block of Southeast Lancaster Drive, but the news release issued by police gave no details about the person or their death.

According to the police, the Oregon State Medical Examiner must still perform an autopsy to determine the person’s cause of death, but this is still pending.

Detectives are working to find the identity of the deceased and are treating the investigation as a suspicious death. No other information is available at this time.
