Champoeg Spring/Summer Reservations Now Open: Construction Date Moved To Late 2025

The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) confirmed that the spring and summer reservations for the Champoeg State Heritage Area are open, as the planned partial construction closure on Loop B has been moved to a later date.

Champoeg Planned Construction

Champoeg is one of nine GO Bond projects planned for Oregon State Parks. The projects are supported through Oregon-issued general obligation bonds approved by the Oregon State Legislature in 2021 and will include adding additional camping sites and a restroom/shower building.

Project details can be found on the State Parks construction webpage.

B Loop was planned to close temporarily between April and September, but the construction schedule has changed. The work is rescheduled to start in late 2025 or early 2026, and during construction, B Loop may need to close.

Loop B campsite online reservations for the six-month spring and summer 2025 booking window will be open from 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2025. The Champoeg State Heritage Area webpage has up-to-date information about the closures and Champoeg GO Bond project. More detailed information about the project is available on the construction web page.
