Coos Bay Man Arrested In Cocaine Trafficking Investigation

COOS COUNTY, Ore. — A 43-year-old man was arrested on Friday, January 10th, as a result of investigations by detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT).

Several people were detained during the execution of a search warrant following an ongoing cocaine trafficking investigation.

 

Coos County Cocaine Trafficking Investigations: Man Arrested

With help from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, DINT detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2800 block of Coos Bay Wagon Road in Lookingglass at about 4:00 PM on Friday.

Detectives from DINT, a multi-jurisdictional narcotics task force that identifies, disrupts, and dismantles local, multi-state, and international drug trafficking organizations, is supported by the Oregon-Idaho High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) and comprises members from the Oregon State Police, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, and Roseburg Police Department, as well as the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office, and the Bureau of Land Management.

During a search of the Coos Bay residence, detectives found around 2.3 kilos (5.2 pounds) of suspected cocaine, almost one pound of psilocybin mushrooms, scales and packaging materials used to weigh and package substances, several firearms, bulk cash, and other evidence.

Several people were detained when police executed the search warrant.

Ronnie Romo of Lookingglass was arrested on Friday and lodged at the Douglas County Jail on charges of Unlawful Possession, Delivery, and Manufacture of Cocaine, as well as Unlawful Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance (Psilocybin) in one of the largest cocaine seizures in memory for the area.
