Couple Found Shot in Yoncalla Home Have Been Identified
The couple found dead from gunshot wounds in their Yoncalla home on 31 January has been identified as Steven Curtis Bolin and his wife, Michelle Bolin.
The couple was found by Yoncalla Sheriff’s Office deputies who responded to a report of domestic violence at the 100 block of Williams Road.
After observing two people on the floor of the residence, deputies forced entry. The couple were already dead.
Investigation Rules Death Occurred by Homicide/Suicide
According to a news release from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation has ruled that death occurred by an apparent homicide/suicide.
Investigators determined that Bolin (68) shot and killed his wife, Michelle (62), before turning the gun on himself following a domestic violence incident.
Daily Tidings reported that friends of the couple were shocked by the double death.
The news was particularly heartbreaking to Holly Brooks, who shared on Facebook that she had lived close to the Bolin couple throughout high school, adding that they were an integral part of her family.
Oregon State Police, Sutherlin Police Department, and North Douglas County Fire & EMS assisted the sheriff’s office in the incident.
