Cyclist’s Fatal Red-Light Run Collides with Subaru on Klamath County Highway

KLAMATH COUNTY, Ore. — Responding to a vehicle versus bicycle crash on Wednesday on Crater Lake Parkway (Highway 97 Business) at the intersection with Shasta Way in Klamath County, Oregon State Police (OSP) discovered a cyclist, 48-year-old Douglas Duane Robinson of Klamath Falls, was critically injured. He was taken to hospital, where he was later declared dead.

According to the preliminary investigation, Robinson was on a westbound electric bicycle that entered the intersection against a red light. He was struck by a southbound Subaru Outback driven by 64-year-old Mary Jane Richardson of Chiloquin.

While Richardson was not physically injured, Robinson was transported to an area hospital, where he was later declared deceased.

Highway 97 (Business) was affected for about an hour during the on-scene investigation.
