Donations Pouring for the Oregon Family Whose Son Died and Two other Children Critically Injured
Donations from generous Eugene residents are pouring for the Bounds family, who lost a son and whose two other children, Steven Jr and his sister Ashton, are undergoing extensive surgery after a collision between their vehicle and an SUV on Saturday afternoon.
Easton Bounds was a Bright and Vibrant Young Boy
Easton Bounds, described by his family as ‘a bright and vibrant young boy,’ died in the collision near the corner of Beacon Drive and River Road.
Five teenagers were in the car involved in the accident with an SUV whose driver remained on the scene and assisted Eugene police with their investigations.
The condition of the four teenage occupants was said to be critical.
The local police force, assisted by the Major Collisions investigation team and the Eugene-Springfield Fire Department, responded to the accident, the cause of which is unknown.
Foggy Conditions Caused Poor Visibility
After the accident, poor visibility caused by fog prompted emergency workers to shut down traffic in both directions on River Road.
At the time of going to press, 688 people had donated $53,275 to the Bounds family to help cover the cost of medical bills and other expenses related to their family tragedy.
