Drunk Oregon Man Arrested for Assault After Commanding Pit Bull to Attack, Faces Six-Year Sentence

Lane County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Cottage Grove man, Ron Cameron Boss, Jr., on Thursday. Boss allegedly assaulted two men, instructing his pit bull to bite one of them.

Court records indicate that Boss was intoxicated and fighting a man in Vinnie’s parking lot in Cottage Grove St. When a second man tried to break up the fight, Boss hit and headbutted him several times before telling his dog to ‘sic’ the first man.

After the dog bit the victim’s lower leg, Boss allegedly pulled out a knife before fleeing inside a motorhome.

Boss was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and fourth-degree assault- charges that carry a possible six-year sentence.
