Eagle Point Man Arrested After Knife Attack Arising From Money Dispute
JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. — A 65-year-old man, Anthony C. Holzhauer, was arrested in Eagle Point on Sunday evening after he assaulted another man with a knife following a dispute about money.
Eagle Point Man Injured In Knife Attack
The Eagle Point Police Department responded to reports of a knife attack yesterday at 5:38 p.m. in the 300 block of Lorraine Avenue after neighbors called 911.
The suspect was arguing with the victim, Webster Jackson, 57, when Holtzhauer took out a knife and cut the victim several times. Officers later established that Holtzhauer initiated the fight.
Jackson sustained multiple non-life-threatening injuries but managed to pin Holzhauer down. Holzhauer was arrested without further incident when officers arrived. Jackon was transported to the hospital and treated for cuts to the head, face, and body but has since been released.
Police said this was an isolated incident between the two people, and no other victims were involved.
There are no threats to the public. Holzhauer was lodged at the Jackson County Jail and is facing charges of first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and harassment. The case was refered to the District Attorney’s Office
