Employee Allegedly Swindles Hundreds of Thousands from Contracting Company in Six-Year Embezzlement Scheme

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Harvey and Price, a mechanical contracting company in Springfield, was allegedly embezzled of hundreds of thousands of dollars by ‘a trusted employee’ during her six years working for the company.

Melisa Jaragosky (41) faced 35 charges when she appeared in the Lane County Circuit Court on Tuesday. The charges of aggravated first-degree theft first-degree forgery, and aggravated identity theft, relate to theft from the company between April 2019 and March 2025.

Jarakosky was employed in the accounts payable department, where the office manager, Kathy Nelson, described her as ‘a trusted employee.’

An investigation into the allegations is continuing.
