Eugene Police Search for Suspect After a Young Female Tabby Cat Was Shot While Trapped Inside a Carrier

EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene Police want information on a man who shot a female cat trapped inside a carrier, abandoned her on a hilly outcrop, and then fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan.

Police were alerted to the sound of gunshots at 3.15 pm on Saturday, 5 April. Responding to the report at the 3600 block in Snowberry Road, callers told the police that after hearing several gunshots, they saw a man run down the hill before driving off in a dark-colored Acura sedan.

 

Unspayed Cat Was Euthanized

When they arrived on the scene officers found a female cat, suffering from gunshot wounds inside a carrier. She was euthanized at an emergency veterinary clinic because of the severity of her injuries.

The culprit is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, six feet tall, of average build, and in his 20s. He is said to have a ponytail, a shaved head, and wearing a red shirt.

The sedan driven by the man has a partial plate of ‘8908’.
