From Wiretaps to Warrants: Medford’s MADGE Crushes Family-Run Drug Empire
MEDFORD, Ore. — Following a two-year investigation into a drug trafficking organization bringing significant quantities of narcotics into the community, the Medford Police Department’s Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement team (MADGE) has arrested eight people and seized drugs, cash, and firearms.
Medford Police Bust Major Drug Trafficking Gang
MADGE started surveilling a major group of drug traffickers digitally in March 2024 as part of their effort to dismantle the organization. This led to identifying key suspects in a family-run operation involved in drug trafficking and money laundering.
Led by Carlos Diaz-Lourdes of Eagle Point, the group was transporting drugs into Jackson County from outside the region.
After securing wiretap orders in November 2024, MADGE intercepted critical communications that helped investigators build their case.
In a tactical operation between January 16 and 22, 2025, MADGE and its partner agencies, the Oregon State Police, Eagle Point Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff Oregon, Homeland Security Investigation (HSI), and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), executed 14 search warrants on homes and vehicles and made multiple arrests.
The major contributors arrested and charged with drug trafficking and money laundering were:
- Carlos Diaz-Lourdes, 40, of Eagle Point
- John Steven Diaz, 32, of Eagle Point
- Eileen Diaz, 38, of Eagle Point
- Steven John Diaz, 32, of Los Angeles
- Nyah Rayne Yeoman, 22, of Medford
- Mayra Miranda, 30, of Medford
- Brian Caro, 27, of White City
- Ryan Lyle Hall, 43, of Prospect
Another 12 people were also arrested on multiple indictments, and police seized 10 pounds of narcotics, including methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl pills, iso-fentanyl powder, and heroin, $210,000 in cash, and 50 firearms, including short-barreled rifles, shotguns, and ghost guns.
