Hazelwood Shooting Leaves One Dead, Portland Police Seek Public’s Help in Unsolved Homicide
PORTLAND, Ore. — The perpetrator(s) of the Hazelwood Neighborhood shooting on 23 January in which Stanley Earl Dunn (51) of Portland died are still at large.
While Portland Police have been able to release the identity of the victim following a post-mortem, they are still appealing to the public for information surrounding the incident that occurred in the early hours.
When police from the East Precinct responded to a call about a shooting near Southeast 97th Avenue and Southeast Oak Street, they found Dunn lying dead on the street. The perpetrator(s) had fled the scene.
Portland Police are investigating the homicide and have notified the victim’s family. They have requested privacy. The Medical Examiner has confirmed that Dunn died of homicide by gunshot wound.
The Hazelwood Neighborhood Shooting was the second homicide in Portland since the start of 2025.
