High-Speed Car Chase in Oregon Ends in Dramatic Arrest

ROSEBURG, Ore — A suspected drug dealer with a history of violent crime was involved in a high-speed car chase with detectives from the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) that ended in a dramatic arrest in the streets of Roseburg.

Glenn Gearhart Was Armed and Dangerous

The arrest of Glenn Gearhart (50) followed a tip-off and subsequent investigation by members of the DINT.

They learned that Gearhart, who had recently relocated from Bell Gardens in California to Oregon, was a dangerous and armed drug dealer, routinely selling large amounts of fentanyl and methamphetamine in the greater Roseburg area.

His dramatic arrest unfolded last Friday (October 18) when detectives obtained a search warrant for his apartment in Page Road, Winchester. Detectives watched as Gearhart left the apartment and climbed into a late model Jeep Cherokee.

Members of the DINT called for assistance from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office as they believed the suspect to be in possession of illegal firearms and large quantities of drugs. Gearhart, who has spent most of his adult life in California prisons, was considered armed and dangerous.

A high-speed car chase ensued, with Gearhart leading law enforcement officers through the streets of the northern Roseburg area. At one stage, Gearhart smashed his vehicle into a curb but continued his escape attempt until side-swiping another vehicle.

Law enforcement officers then managed to pin the suspect’s vehicle from behind and in front, where Roseburg PD officers, several deputies, and DINT detectives took him into custody.

Search of Vehicle Uncovered Cache of Firearms and Large Sum of Cash

A search of his vehicle uncovered an AR-15, an illegal short-barrel shotgun, a pump action shotgun, a toy gun, and a Glock .40 caliber handgun with an extended magazine that was stolen in Los Angeles, California. A large sum of cash was also uncovered.

DINT detectives then returned to the suspect’s Winchester apartment where they took possession of a substantial drug haul – 734 grams (1.6 lb.) of suspected methamphetamine, 608 grams (1.3 lb.) of suspected fentanyl, 369 doses of alprazolam, 51 grams of cocaine, and12.5 grams of psilocybin (magic mushrooms.)

Detectives arrested Hannah Fallert (34) at the apartment. She is in custody at the Douglas County Jail on charges of the unlawful possession and delivery of fentanyl, with an additional charge of unlawful delivery of fentanyl within 1,000 ft. of a school.

Gearhart is also in the Douglas County Jail facing 10 charges, including reckless driving, unlawful firearm possession, and unlawful possession of methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl.

Law enforcement officers are anticipating more arrests.
