Medford Heating And Air Company Community Program
For four years now, Metal Masters and Lennox have aimed to give back to community members through their ‘Feel the Love’ program, which helps families in need with heating and cooling equipment.
David Cate, president of Metal Masters indicated that it’s not just important to give back, but also connect with members of the community while doing so. This makes the installation day feel more like a party than an ordinary installation.
Metal Masters recently chose the Cooks as part of their goal to give back to families who need it because of the family’s story.
Medford Couple Get Free HVAC Installation
On Friday, a Medford married couple were the lucky beneficiaries of the generosity of Metal Master and Lennox. Jessie and Justin Cook, who were both diagnosed with cancer and lost their home in the Almeda Fire felt really blessed.
Justin confirmed the kind gesture was unexpected and Jessie, a North Medford High School teacher, said, “It was so surprising and amazing, and I just felt really blessed.”
Justin first went to see the doctor only to find out he had a lump in his throat, that ended up being thyroid cancer. Then, when Jessie Cook was around 32, 33 weeks pregnant, she also found a lump.
A few weeks later she found out she had breast cancer. At around the same time, one of the Cook children had a medical procedure, and- as if that wasn’t already enough difficulty, Justin Cook also lost his job.
The difficulties didn’t end there, In 2020, the family lost their house in the Almeda Fire and since then have faced some other challenges.

The Cooks eventually bought their first house two years ago and both are clear of cancer. And their new home has a new HVAC System.
Justin said while sometimes it’s difficult to accept help, it’s important to do so, to which Jessie added, its just as important to help others when you have the opportunity to.
