Medford Police Arrest 2 Suspects After Memory Care Shooting

MEDFORD, Ore — The Medford Police Department (MPD) responded to 911 calls on September 12 that described a shooting incident near Dutch Bros, across from Kinsington Oak Grove Memory Care, a nursing home at 77 Oak Grove Road in west Medford, at around 4:10 PM.

Witness accounts indicate that a black, four-door Lexus arrived at Dutch Bros, and the passenger in the vehicle showed a handgun to two men standing outside who are still to be identified.

As the two men walked to a red SUV parked at Kinsington Memory Care, they were followed by the driver of the Lexus into the parking lot. Multiple shots were fired at the men in the SUV shortly afterward by the passenger of the Lexus before both vehicles fled the scene in opposite directions. Witnesses say no one was hit by the gunfire.

Soon after arriving, MPD officers obtained surveillance footage. A description of the suspect vehicle was distributed to all units. Surrounding security cameras also captured parts of the incident, and the footage is being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.

The Oregon State Police, Jacksonville Police, and Jackson County Sheriff’s Department units are working with MPD.

About an hour after the shooting- at 5:19 PM, a Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputy found the suspect Lexus on Highway 238 in Jacksonville.

The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and two suspects were arrested and charged with five counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon. They were identified as Daniel A. Godoy and Darien R. Bradd.

 

Police Searching For Second Vehicle Involved In Medford Shooting Incident

The people in the second vehicle have not been contacted. MPD detectives are working to identify the two unknown people to confirm that they were unharmed.
