Medford’s Howard School Park Makeover Brings Interactive Playground and Splash Pad by Memorial Day
MEDFORD, Ore. — Renovations at Howard School Park, which started in July 2024, are almost done and are expected to be finalized by Memorial Day.
On completion, the Howard School Park upgrades will include pickleball courts, a splash pad, a dog park, a small basketball court, and a new Portland Loo restroom. It will also feature Medford’s first Lappset interactive playground equipment.
The 9.2-acre neighborhood Howard School park project, along Mace Road adjacent to Howard Elementary School, is currently around 90% complete.
The contractors are finalizing landscaping and irrigation, and the new restroom is expected to be installed in September.
The project cost $2.3 million and was funded through a combination of a $714,300 Local Government Grant, $925,800 in American Rescue Plan Act funds, and contributions from the Parks, Recreation, and Facilities Department’s Capital Improvement Fund.
