Medford’s STAR Team Investigating Vehicle Crash: Alcohol & Speed May Have Played A Role

MEDFORD, Ore — Emergency personnel responded to reports of a single-vehicle accident at the corner of East Main Street and Crater Lake Avenue at around 3:50 AM on September 14.

 

Police Investigate Serious Crash In Downtown Medford

The driver of the vehicle which was travelling south on Crake Lake Avenue failed to navigate the turn onto East Main Street. As a result, the vehicle collided with concrete landscaping and a curb.

While the driver was taken to the hospital- but was released following treatment, one of the other occupants of the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported to a Medford area hospital for medical treatment.

Personnel from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Medford Police Department’s  (MPD) Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) team, responded to the scene.

The crash is under investigation but initial reports indicate that alcohol and speed may have played a role in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released once available.
