Oregon Couple Found Dead in Their Home from Gunshot Wounds: Community Reels from Shock
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. — Facebook friends have reacted with shock to the death of two adults found inside their Yoncalla home by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office late on Friday night.
Holly Brooks, who says she lived two doors from them throughout high school, says the couple played a large role in the lives of her family, and there were no words to describe their heartbreak.
Deputies responded to a caller at 10.20 p.m. after they were asked to check on an employee who had not reported to work. They visited the residence in the 100 block of Williams Road, where they found the couple lying dead, apparently from gunshot wounds.
Douglas County detectives are now investigating a case of homicide-suicide.
The names of the two individuals have not been disclosed until next of kin are notified. Details of the perpetrator and victim are also withheld pending further investigation.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says it will give more information in a news release.
Assisting the deputies were officers from the Oregon State Police, Sutherlin Police Department, and North Douglas County Fire & EMS.
