Jedediah and Harmony Wytcherley Cited to Appear In Court After Abandoning 36 Cats
After receiving a report that 36 cats had been abandoned at one of the gates of the Rogue Valley Humane Society, the Josephine County Animal Control initiated an investigation.
Animal Control officials indicated that the cats were left without food, water, or adequate shelter.
The cats were taken in by the Humane Society who provided them with the necessary medical attention and safe housing.
During a months-long investigation into the incident, Animal Control gathered community tips and analyzed video evidence before Animal Control Officer Morgan and Deputy Simon identified two suspects.
During an interview on November 14, Jedediah and Harmony Wytcherley allegedly admitted to leaving the cats at the Humane Society gate.
The couple were subsequently cited to appear in court on charges of Animal Abandonment and Animal Neglect in the Second Degree and the Josephine County District Attorney’s Office will determine further legal actions after reviewing the evidence.
No further information has been made available, but the authorities indicated that the investigation will remain active.
