Oregon DMV Driver State Knowledge Tests Available Online in Eight Languages

The Oregon Driver and Motor Vehicle Services (DMV) division is offering the state’s knowledge tests in eight languages to learner drivers.

Tests are Available at DMV Office Terminals

The online tests are available at DMV office terminals and, apart from English, can now be accessed in Arabic, Chinese (simplified Mandarin), Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Spanish, and Russian.

The DMV says while most would-be-drivers complete the state knowledge tests at its offices, last year 23,000 people made use of the virtual alternative.

The cost of the online tests remains unchanged at $7.

The tests cannot be completed on cell phones or tablets as they require a computer and a functioning webcam.

Test-takers under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult supervisor and must report to a DMV office to undergo an eye test and to have identity documentation verified.

If you can’t read the road signs in the English language how is that safe for the rest of us? Our car insurance rates will sky rocket ! What bright person thought this might be a great idea ? An ID is one thing but a driver’s license is insanity.
