Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers Both Score a Preseason Top 25 Slots in Coaches Poll
It may be the first time in a decade, but it’s also only the seventh time in Oregon State’s history that it’s made a preseason top 25 football poll. The Ducks, on the other hand, are a tad more familiar with the poll, and sit at a comfortably higher spot than Oregon State.
USA Today Sports AFCA Coaches Poll was released on Monday, where it used a panel of 63 head coaches at FBS schools to decide the positions. Essentially, each coach submits a top 25 and a first-place vote worth 25 points. These are tallied up and used to score each college.
Quite a few of our Pac-12 buddies made it as well, and within that group the score is USC (6), Washington (11), Utah (14), Oregon (15), and Oregon State (18).
So both the Ducks and the Beavers have scored themselves a position in the coaches poll, which hasn’t happened in quite a few years. It really feels like they’re becoming neck and neck, and this poll is just one of the many things getting fans excited to see their favorite teams finally do battle on the field.
