Oregon Ducks One Step Closer To Top 10 Contest After Maryland Terrapins Victory – Game Highlights
Aside from a thrilling second quarter, Autzen Stadium was quieter than usual with the student section sat at about 80% capacity as the Oregon Ducks prevailed over Maryland Terrapins 39-18. There is no prior history between the teams, which may have resulted in a somewhat subdued crowd on Saturday.

With the No. 1 team in the nation on the field, there were some memorable moments. Tez Johnson and starting RG Marcus Harper were missing from the defense, but the 21-point win at home takes them closer to the Big Ten. Highlights of the game included:
- Dillon Gabriel ade history with a touchdown pass in the third quarter to offensive tackle Gernorris Wilson, becoming the NCAA’s touchdown leader officially. He surpassed Case Keenum with the 179th TD of his career and still has many years and many games to increase his success.
- Without Tez Johnson on the field,The Ducks sent out two tight-end sets with Terrance Ferguson leading the team with 12 targets.
- Evan Stewart had six passes for 55 yards and a touchdown, but Johnson’s absence was felt.
- The longest pass of the gamecame from Traeshon Holden for 20 yards.
- Jordan Burch returned after a knee injury last week against the Michigan Wolverines, but did far better this week, racking up three tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss, one pass breakup, and a forced fumble that led to a Ducks defensive touchdown. He was also the leading Ducks rusher after a fake punt rush over 29 yards.
- Noah Whittington led the Ducks in carries with 13 rushes for 77 yards, and Jordan James had just seven carries for 29 yards.

Penalties were an issue with the Ducks being flagged for 12 penalties, racking up 95 yards- season highs by a large margin despite ridding the team of the penalty problem early in the season, yet it came back to bite them.
