Oregon Ducks Reinforce Big 10 Spot With 13-0 Record After Penn State Victory
The Oregon Ducks left the Lucas Stadium in Indianapolis with the first-ever 13-0 record in program history on Saturday after a 45-37 win over the Penn State Nittany Lions- Dan Lannings’ first Big Ten Conference win as a head coach. As No. 1, the Ducks earned a guaranteed bye in the College Football playoffs.

In their game against No. 3 Penn State Nittany Lions- one of the best teams in the Big Ten in the last 15 years, the Ducks continued their undefeated season.
After the game, Lanning said he thought everybody gave a little extra tonight, and this showed up, particularly in Dillon Gabriel and Tez Johnson. The game was a battle to the end and the many highlights included:
- Gabriel went 22-for-32 for 238 yards, scored 4 touchdowns, and had no turnovers. His plays included darts on the run to Johnson, Terrance Ferguson, and Traeshon Holden at critical moments in an almost perfect game.
- Johnson finished with 11 catches for 181 yards and a touchdown- and a yards-in-a-game career-high. Named the Big Ten Championship Game MVP, the quarterback made a big difference against the Nittany Lions, averaging 7 catches, 78.7 yards, and 0.91 TDs per game overall so far.
- Despite a bad end to the second half, midway through the thirds quarter, Johnson’s most crucial catch came when he was wide open, receiving a catch from Gabriel before taking the ball 48 yards for a score and changing up the momentum of the game.
- Penn State has a good defence in Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton, and rushed for 292 yards Both Allen and Singleton crossed the 100-yard mark, picking up 8.3 yards per rush.
Oregon Ducks vs. Penn State Nittany Lions Full Game Highlights
For the first time in ten years, the Oregon Ducks will play College Football Playoff game. The next round starts on December 20th and 21st, and the second round over New Year’s.
The Ducks will have some time to prepare as they have a bye, and coach Lanning said he is thinking how they can improve and get better.
