Kotek said that despite there being uncertainty of what may happen after Trump takes office, she knows that no matter what happens at national level, Oregonians can come together and protect what they love in their state.
She is already consulting with other governors to get advice from them, especially women governors. Kotek said there is a lot of rhetoric and she will have to see what is proposed.
Kotek has already taken some steps to protect the rights of Oregonians. She immediately assessed Oregon’s Mifepristone stockpile- the drug is an important medication for miscarriages and other medically needed abortions.
The state’s current stockpile expires in September, and Kotek has worked to secure a new supply of the drug, which will last till fall of 2028.
