Four Winds Motel Owner Shot Three Times
According to court documents, Neal admitted to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies that he killed his boss, Sarabjit Singh (44), after shooting him three times at the Four Winds Inn last Thursday and had bought a gun specifically for the shooting.
He was arrested after a car chase on Highway 20 in Lincoln County. Deputies found a handgun, ammunition, and $510 in cash in Neal’s car.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Singh was shot twice in his office. As Singh tried to escape his assailant, he was struck by a third bullet. The affidavit states that Neal took money from the cash register before returning home, where he told his girlfriend that he had shot Singh.
Arrested After Car Ran Over Spike Strip
Neal then fled in his car and was arrested by deputies after a 35-mile chase that ended when his vehicle ran over a spike strip that punctured his tires. Law enforcement officers surrounded his vehicle, and Neal surrendered on the scene.
Neal is in custody and will appear in court on Friday on charges of second-degree murder, first-degree assault, the unlawful use of a weapon, and eluding a police officer.
Neal has pleaded not guilty to all the charges. A request for bail was denied.
