Oregon Man Arrested After Threatening People With BB Gun

A 44-year-old Coos County man, Jacob A. Hermann, was arrested Monday afternoon.  Coos County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) officials indicated that Hermann allegedly threatened multiple people with a BB gun that looked like a real gun on Libby Lane.

Shortly before 4 p.m. on March 3, North Coos dispatchers received several calls reporting an armed man pointing a firearm at people as he walked along Libby Lane.

A responding deputy found  Hermann, who fit the description given by callers, and discovered that Hermann was armed with a BB gun.

Several witnesses who were interviewed were in fear for their lives as they believed the gun to be authentic when Hermann pointed it at them.

Hermann was arrested and lodged at the Coos County Jail on two counts of menacing. At the request of his parole officer, he was placed on a detainer and is currently in custody.
