Oregon Man Arrested by Roseburg Police After Multiple Hit-and-Runs, Meth Found in Possession

ROSEBURG, Ore. — The Roseburg Police Department (RPD) arrested a 71-year-old  Roseburg man, David Grant Tollefson, early on Monday morning. While allegedly driving impaired, Tollefson reportedly struck three vehicles and a telephone pole with his vehicle and then left the accident scenes.

RPD officials responded to a reported hit-and-run collision in the 300 block of Southeast Lane Avenue in Roseburg at about 3:12 a.m. on February 10. On arrival, the officers found an unoccupied 2010 Nissan Rogue with heavy front-end damage.

The vehicle’s driver, identified as Tollefson, was found a short distance away. He reportedly showed signs of impairment.

Tollefson performed poorly in standard field sobriety tests he had consented to. Officers also found about 76.78 grams of methamphetamine in his possession. A blood sample was taken at Mercy Medical Center after police obtained a search warrant.

Tollefson was taken to Douglas County Jail and has been charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, unlawful possession of methamphetamine,  reckless driving, and four counts of failure to perform duties of a driver with property damage.  Jail records indicate he was released from custody on February 11.
