Oregon Man Sentenced to Life for Grisly Murder and Dismemberment of Girlfriend
Jamon Peter Fritsch was sentenced to life imprisonment for the ‘grisly’ murder and dismemberment of his girlfriend in Oregon City in 2023.
The 48-year-old, sentenced in the Clackamas County Circuit Court on Wednesday, will spend the rest of his life behind bars for the killing of respiratory therapist Kara Rayleen Taylor (49), who was last seen alive on 25 July 2023.
Body Parts Found at a Landfill in Corvallis
Parts of her body were found at the Coffin Butte Landfill in Corvallis after police removed between 4,000 to 7,000 tons of debris, but her arms and legs were never found.
Fritsch, who shared a home with Taylor on Jefferson Street, was found guilty of second-degree murder and was also found guilty of the abuse of a corpse. He was arrested two weeks after her disappearance.
According to court documents. Fritsch reported her disappearance to the police, saying she had left her disabled daughter in their house.
He Bought Contractor Bags, Tarps, and Zip Ties
A police investigation discovered that Fritsch had made several visits to a Home Depot where he bought contractor bags, tarps, and zip ties. An FBI evidence team found blood in their bathtub, bedroom, on the walls, and a saw.
After his arrest, Fritsch admitted to dismembering Taylor and placing body parts at different locations.
During his court appearance, Fritsch agreed to take antipsychotic medication while in prison and, in a prepared statement, said he took ‘full responsibility’ for his crimes.
Police described the murder as ‘grisly’ and horrific.
