Oregon Nurses Strike Tentative Deal with Providence Health After Intense Talks

MEDFORD, Ore. — Representatives of healthcare workers at all eight Oregon Providence Health hospitals reached tentative agreements with the healthcare provider after three days of intensive bargaining earlier this week.

The negotiations, facilitated by federal mediators, followed Providence healthcare workers at St. Vincent approving their contract, but Medford nurses rejected their offer earlier this month.

Healthcare workers in each bargaining unit will now learn the details through the Oregon Nurses Association (ONA), which will oversee the ratification voting process.

This is a significant step toward ensuring stability within Providence Health hospitals and reinforcing the relationship between the healthcare system and its workforce.
