By half-time, California had shut out the Beavers 31-0- the Bears’ biggest halftime margin in 9 years. Oregon State struggled but managed a score with five minutes left in the game. Highlights of the game included:
- Bears quarterback Fernando Mendoza set a passing yards career high with 27-for-36 for 364 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions, running five times for 25 yards and zero sacks. He was named player of the game.
- Although Oregon State had 82 yards of offense and four first downs in the first half, the Bears had 356 yards of offense and 20 first downs in the first half alone.
- The Beavers started the game ranked eighth in the nation in rushing yards per game- at 239 yards per contest, they were limited to 60 rushing yards and 2.2 yards per carry on Saturday.
- Bears RB Jaydn Ott had 5 carries for zero yards in the first half, ending with 10 carries for 11 yards and 4 receptions for 58 yards.
- Bears kicker Derek Morris was 5-for-5 on field goal attempts, tying the school record for most field goals in a game.
- Bears QB Fernando Mendoza was 27-for-36 for 364 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions for a passer rating of 178.3.
- Beaver’s Gevani McCoy was 2-for-5 for 3 yards, no touchdowns, and a single interception for a passer rating of 5.0 while Ben Gulbranson was 11-for-20 for 131 yards, one touchdown, and 0 interceptions.

California now has a 50% chance to get a bowl berth but first needs to win two of their final four games- against Wake Forest, Syracuse, Stanford, and SMU. The Beavers face San Juan State Spartans on November 9.
