Oregon State Police K-9 Team Busts California Driver with Fentanyl Haul and Cash on Interstate 5
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. — The Oregon State Police K-9 team seized 2.4 pounds of fentanyl powder, methamphetamine, and a large amount of cash U.S. dollars from a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation on Interstate 5.
The drug haul was uncovered on 26 February when an OSP trooper saw signs of possible criminal activity inside the vehicle.
Methamphetamine, Fentanyl, and Cash Seized on Interstate 5
A consent search of the vehicle was conducted, and troopers seized 0.3 grams of methamphetamine, 2.4 pounds of fentanyl powder, and a large amount of cash.
The driver of the vehicle, Sebastian Melendez Ramirez (51) of Oakland, California, has been charged with possession and delivery of controlled substances.
Last year, OSP and K-9 teams seized more than 1.4 million dosage units of fentanyl – one dosage is equal to 1 pill or 0.1 gram of powder.
