Pacific Power Awards Grant To ACCESS As Oregon Employees Volunteer To Prep Packages

MEDFORD, Ore. — Volunteers from Pacific Power, which has over 800,000 customers in Oregon, Washington, and California, lent a helping hand to ACCESS, a Jackson County nonprofit offering vital services.

Yesterday, they took part in a volunteer shift at the ACCESS warehouse to help sort, bag, and box up food and hygiene products. The products will ultimately be distributed through local food pantries.

Over and above the volunteer work, The PacifiCorp Foundation, trading as the Pacific Power Foundation in Oregon, awarded a grant of $40,000 to help further ACCESS’s mission and significantly impact the community.

Started in 1988, the foundation is one of the largest utility-endowed foundations in the  US. It strives to support the growth and vitality of the communities it serves and has awarded over $77 million to nonprofit organizations since its inception.

In a statement, Ryan Flynn, director of the Pacific Power Foundation and president of Pacific Power, said the foundation can contribute to initiatives that foster a sense of unity, promote shared purpose, and ensure a sustainable impact by collaborating with local community organizations such as ACCESS.

Flynn said, “This ongoing partnership is essential to strengthening communities and creating a brighter future for all.”
