Pacific Power Ready To Respond To Possible Winter Storm Outages Across Oregon

Pacific Power, which has over 800,000 customers in Oregon, Washington, and California, is monitoring the winter storm approaching Oregon that could affect customers this holiday week as high winds have been forecast, starting tonight.

 

Pacific Power Anticipates Storms: Crrews Prepared For Outages

With peak gusts expected Wednesday night, Pacific Power said in a news release that there could be power outages along the coast, south Willamette Valley, and Grants Pass. Their meteorology team monitors the storm closely and is ready to respond to weather-related outages with crews on standby.

The electricity giant encouraged customers always to be prepared for outages and suggested Oregonians should have an emergency plan for times when essential services are down, for up to 72 hours.

Pacific Power supports state and local emergency management organizations and provides the following tips to prepare for the winter storm and stay informed:

  • In an emergency, call 911 and report the outage to Pacific Power at 1-877-508-5088.
  • To report your outage, text OUT to 722797.
  • To check your status, text STAT to 722797.
  • Update your Pacific Power contact information to ensure you can be reached.
  • Visit PacificPower.net/Outages for restoration estimates.
  • Keep mobile devices charged for use in an emergency.
  • Get outage alerts by text, email, or phone by signing up.
  • Track outages on the free Pacific Power App.
  • Restock your outage kit.

 

Keep in mind that all downed power lines and utility lines may be live- keep away from them as they could be energized and extremely dangerous even if the lines are not sparking, Avoid downed trees and powerlines and keep pets far away from those areas.
