Police Intercept Massive Fentanyl Shipment Headed for Grants Pass

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — In a joint operation with the Rogue Area Drug Enforcement team (RADE), the Grants Pass Police Department recently seized over ten ounces of fentanyl headed to Grants Pass.

According to the US DEA, depending on a person’s body size, tolerance, and past usage, two milligrams of fentanyl can be lethal. The 10oz fentanyl seizure eliminated over 149,150 potentially lethal doses of the substance.

The Rogue Area Drug Enforcement team, a cooperative narcotics enforcement task force made up of members from the Grants Pass Police Department, Oregon State Police, Josephine County Community Corrections, the Josephine County District Attorney’s Office, and Federal Partners, is still investigating the incident and has indicated that further details cannot be released at this time.
