Portland Judge Slams Oregon Shooter with 17 Years for Party Bus Gun Violence

PORTLAND, Ore. — Following a guilty finding by a Multnomah County jury in December on multiple counts, a  Multnomah County judge has now sentenced Dwayne Rayshon Driver, 29, to over 17 years in prison for a March 2023 shooting on a party bus in Portland’s Old Town neighborhood that left one man injured.

The injured victim survived, and the shooter has now received the maximum sentence on charges of attempted murder, assault, and unlawful use of a firearm.

Multnomah County District Attorney Nathan Vasquez indicated that the DA was very proud to seek the maximum sentence and emphasized their commitment to addressing gun violence in the county.

The DA’s office is committed to making sure those who commit these crimes know they will go to prison. Vasquez warned, “When it comes to people involved in gun violence, we aim to secure as much prison time as we can get.”
