Oregon Man Jailed for 15 Years After Gunning Down Mother’s Unarmed Boyfriend

After being sentenced to 15 years behind bars for gunning down and killing his mother’s unarmed boyfriend, Issac W. Henderson (20) from Portland told the judge: ‘I’d do anything for my family.’

Following his arrest late last year, Henderson told investigators that he was angry with his mother’s boyfriend for smoking fentanyl and stealing ‘things’ in their home.

He Emptied 13 Pistol Shots into Edilio Barrera

He emptied 13 shots from a 9mm Taurus pistol into unarmed Edilio Barrera (34) after arguing with his mother, Rachel McCracken, about her boyfriend.

According to a prosecutorial memo, Henderson told investigators he was ‘the only man in her life’ and the one responsible for defending her.

Henderson argued with his mother on August 28, 2023, after which he stormed out of their Humboldt townhouse with a shotgun slung across his back and a pistol in hand.

‘You’re Going to Regret This’

McCracken later told investigators that her son had said: ‘You’re going to regret this…you’ll remember this.’

Henderson then walked into a corner drugstore and purchased a soda while at home his mother contacted her boyfriend and summoned him to her home in the hope of reaching an agreement between him and her son.

Multnomah County Circuit Court Judge Christopher Marshall granted Henderson credit for time served and the possibility of an earlier release for good behavior during the last five years of his 15-year sentence.

When the judge asked the young man if he had anything to say, Henderson replied: ‘I’d do anything for my family.’
