Portland Police Arrest Suspect Who Broke Into Apartment and Assaulted Sleeping Woman
UPDATE: Portland Man Faces Charges After Breaking Into Apartment and Attacking Sleeping Woman
PORTLAND, Ore. — After breaking into an apartment in the 4800 block of Southeast 30th Avenue, Portland, and assaulting a sleeping woman, a man was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
According to a news release by the Portland Police Bureau (PPB), the suspect will be identified after he is booked into jail.
The PPB says that officers took the suspect into custody after he was located with the help of a drone and a member of the K-9 Unit.
The assault took place at 4.45 a.m. on Wednesday, 8 April, and the suspect fled after he was chased out of the apartment by another occupant.
The previous day, at 11.30 p.m., Central Precinct officers received a call that a man was climbing over fences and balconies of residences near Southeast 30th Avenue and Southeast Schiller Street. The PPB searched the area but was unable to locate the suspect.
