Portland Trail Blazers Blaze To Glory Over New Orleans Pelicans
The Portland Trail Blazers dominated over the injury-disrupted New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center last night. In their fourth loss in five games, the Pelicans went down to a 118-100 loss despite some stellar moments, as several Blazers players racked up good individual scores.

Delano Banton scored 8 points in just five minutes after returning from his rest in the third quarter, sparking a 10-2 run that put the Trail Blazers ahead 94-89.
Banton scored 20 points in a single period and from there, Portland continued to increase their lead.
Zion Williamson, Pelicans standout forward, didn’t make the lineup due to hamstring and quad tightness and starters CJ McCollum, Dejounte Murray, and Herb Jones were also non-starters for this game. The highlights of the game included:
- Anfernee Simons scored 24 points while Deandre Ayton got 19 points with 13 rebounds for Portland.
- Banton shot 2 out of 3 from 3-point range, totaling 8 out of 9 in his 12 minutes on the court.
- For the Pelicans, starter Brandon Ingram led with 27 points, five rebounds, and seven assists but also went 1 for 8 from three-point range, and in the final analysis, his team was outshot from the floor 54-45%. The Blazers shot 46 of 84 and outrebounded the Pelicans 38-34.
- Jerami Grant and Toumani Camara both scored 16 points for the Trail Blazers, who trailed for most of the first three quarters, surging ahead in the fourth, when Dalano Banton entered the game.
- Brandon Boston Jr. got a start as a Hawkins replacement and scored 20.
- Jose Alvarado racked up another 18 points for New Orleans.
- Portland finished with an inside advantage of 66-38.
