Portland Trail Blazers vs Minnesota Timberwolves Game Highlights
The Trail Blazers outsourced Minnesota 64-39 on bench points. The Timberwolves entered the game after blowing an 88-80 lead to the Miami Heat on Sunday in the last five minutes of that game.
Minnesota coach Chris Finch took responsibility for the loss and said it was a complete meltdown in a lot of ways. On Tuesday night, the Blazers improved their standing to 4-9 and the highlights included:
- Dalano Banton entered the game after the Blazers lost Anfernee Simons due to a chest injury and his backup, Scoot Henderson, picked up three fouls in the first quarter, but the Blazers jumped out to a 28-17 lead after the first quarter, with a Dalano Banton 3-pointer at the buzzer.
- Portland shot a blistering 18 for 32 (56%) from behind the 3-point line despite coming into the game as the NBA’s second-worst 3-point shooting team.
- Robert Williams recently returned from a knee injury and had nine rebounds and three assists.
- For the Timberwolves, Naz Reid led with 28 points while star guard Anthony Edwards added 26 points.
- In his first start of his NBA career, Donovan Clingan stood in for Deandre Ayton, who missed the game with a sprained finger. Clingan started the game with a block against Rudy Gobert on the opening play of the game and took a steal a few possessions later.
- Two end-of-quarter buzzer-beating 3-pointers, one from Banton, ended the first quarter, and another from Deni Avdija ended the third quarter.
