Raiders Mark Their 400th All-time Win Saturday Against The Oaklanders

ASHLAND, Ore — Saturday’s Oaklanders season-opening game against Lincoln (Calif.)  Raiders stadium delivered a 400th all-time win to the Oklanders. The final score was 46-7.

Raiders Vs Lincoln Game Highlights

The Raiders scored 4 of their touchdowns on the ground and netted 195 of their 311 yards. They also limited Lincoln to 132 yards- 6 less than the Oaklanders gave back on their 16 penalties.

 

Big moments in the game included:

  • Senior linebacker Ty Glumbik: 8 tackles- a team-high, and a forced first-half fumble recovered by Josue Santos.
  • Jordan Faifai returned an interception 44 yards for a touchdown leaving the half-time score at 30-0.
  • Sophomore Gunner Yates punched in the first two and ended with 74 yards on 12 carries
  • Senior Isaiah Hidalgo had the next two, reaching 87 yards on 19 attempts.
  • Senior quarterback Blake Asciutto completed 10 out of 18 attempts for 116 yards and found Rayden Kaneshiro for a 14-yard TD pass midway through the third quarter.
  • Ted Wickman made six catches for 50 yards
  • Receiver Brandon Barthel debuted with 42 yards on a pair of receptions.

 

Raiders Mark 400th Win

SOU Raiders VS Lincoln Oaklanders

Although the Oaklanders didn’t score until the 11:19 mark in the fourth quarter, quarterback, Jack Clavel, needed 20 attempts to accumulate 80 yards, and their three running backs managed only 86 yards altogether.

For the first time since the Raider’s most recent shutout at Carroll on September 22, 2018, their defense didn’t allow a score.

This is the 90th season of SOU football. The Raiders recorded their 100th win in 1962, 200th in 1984, and 300th in 2006, the Raiders are one of 24 active NAIA teams that have reached the 400-win mark. The final point total was their highest in an opener since 2014.
