Retired Oregon City Veterinarian Found Guilty of Killing his Former Lover’s Husband
The 57-year-old successful, now retired, Oregon City veterinarian accused of killing his former lover’s husband was found guilty yesterday (Wednesday) of second-degree murder and multiple counts of violating a stalking order.
Prosecutors said Steven Milner was obsessed with his former lover and employee, Tanya Fandrich, and killed her husband, Kenneth Fandrich (56) at the Intel garage in Hillsboro on 27 January 2023.
The event occurred after months of stalking the couple and various unsuccessful plots to break their marriage.

Security Cameras were Spray Painted
The Washington County Circuit Court heard that Milner parked his van next to Fandrich’s vehicle in the Intel garage and waited for him to finish work after spray painting security cameras.
Surveillance footage blurred by the white spray paint showed shadows between Fandrich’s vehicle and an old van parked alongside. Ten minutes, later Fandrich was dead, his neck broken, and his body on the front seat of his car.
Prosecutors said Milner was obsessed with Tanya Fandrich, who had worked at his veterinary practice as a technician for many years.
The couple had an affair in 2017. In her testimony, Fandrich said she and her husband had discussed safety plans when leaving their home because of Milner’s persistent stalking.
Milner’s tactics included purchasing two ‘burner’ cars to camouflage him when following Kenneth Fandrich, placing tracking devices on the couple’s vehicles, putting plastic into Kenneth Fandrich’s gas tank, placing a condom in his car to create a rift between the couple, and repeatedly attempting to have Fandrich arrested for driving violations.
The defense claimed Kenneth Fandrich was an alcoholic and that Milner was trying to protect Tanya Fandrich from a volatile marriage in which she suffered domestic violence.
The jury rejected the defense’s claim that Milner had acted in self-defense.
He will appear for sentencing on 18 February and could be jailed for life with the possibility of parole after 25 years.
