Roseburg Man’s Harley Ride Ends in Fatal Crash Found by Friend

ROSEBURG, Ore. — The search for a Roseburg man, Terry Eugene Kruh, 63, ended on Thursday, April 10 when a friend, who was one of the searchers, found the body of Kruh and his motorcycle crashed in the 6600 block of Roberts Creek Road in dense blackberry bushes.

Kruh, who was last seen around 5:00 p.m. on April 9 when he left for a motorcycle ride on his 2004 yellow Harley Davidson, failed to meet friends as planned and could not be reached by phone.

A friend went to his home the next morning, but neither Kruh nor his motorcycle and riding gear were there.

The  Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) was notified and initiated a search effort. A cell phone ping showed his phone stationary in a vast area across the Green/Winston/Dillard/Lookingglass area.

As searchers checked roadways in the vicinity, a friend located Kruh and his motorcycle. Emergency medical personnel who responded to the scene confirmed Kruh was deceased.

According to the preliminary investigation, Kruh was riding westbound on Roberts Creek Road, and his motorcycle left the roadway when he failed to negotiate a sharp corner.

His bike came to rest about 20 feet down a steep embankment along a fence line in the bushes.

DSCO asked anyone with information that may aid the crash investigation to contact them at (541) 440-4471, referring to case #25-1206.
