Salem Man With Molotov Cocktails Arrested After Allegedly Hurling Bottle Grenades At Car Dealership

A Salem man, 41-year-old Adam Matthew Lansky, caught on camera throwing Molotov Cocktails at a car dealership, was arrested on Tuesday after bottle grenades were found in his possession as he attempted to destroy property at a Salem car dealership.

Court documents indicate that Salem Police Department officers responded to a report of an individual throwing Molotov cocktails at a local car dealership on January 20.

A month later, officers returned to the same dealership to investigate a report of damage from what appeared to be bullets fired into a building and vehicle on February 19. Investigators linked Lansky to both incidents.

A person who appears to be Lansky is seen throwing Molotov cocktails on the car dealership’s surveillance footage, which also shows the grenades striking the building and several vehicles, which burst into flames.

A patrol car surveillance video captured a vehicle parked near the dealership as Lansky allegedly discharged multiple firearm rounds into the building and at least one vehicle. The vehicle is registered to Lansky and was later seen at his home.

Lansky has been criminally charged with illegally possessing an unregistered destructive device and was arraigned in federal court yesterday before a U.S. Magistrate Judge. The judge ordered he be detained pending further court proceedings.
