Seann William Scott Joins Cast of ‘Shifting Gears’, The New ABC Comedy Sitcom
Seann William Scott is joining Tim Allen and Kat Dennings as a lead in ‘Shifting Gears,” the upcoming ABC comedy series that starts production in November.
‘Shifting Gears’ Adds Seann William Scott To Stellar Cast
Tim Allen is slated to star as Matt in ‘Shifting Gears,’ the multi-camera comedy series. Allen, as the stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration starts a whole new restoration process after his estranged daughter, Riley- played by Dennings, and her teenage kids move into his house.
Scott will play the newly created character of a family friend of both father and daughter Gabriel, who works in the shop with Matt. The character replaces Nick from the pilot.
Scott recently executive produced and starred in Prime Video’s Jackpot! and The Wrath of Becky, and wrapped the indie comedy Bad Man earlier this year. He is represented by UTA under Aloane, Offer, Weber, and Dern.
Daryl “Chill” Mitchell plays the part of Stitch, Maxwell Simkins is Carter and Barrett Margolis plays Georgia in the series. Froy Gutierrez, who was set to play Matt’s son game-coder Nick, will not be part of the series.
‘Shifting Gears” Production Team
Showrunner Michelle Nader has succeeded writers Mike Scully and Julie Thacker Scully who were the executive producers on the pilot., who directed the pilot, executive produce alongside.
20th Television, a division of Disney Television Studios, is producing the series under Nader, Allen, and Dennings with Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Richard Baker, Rick Messina, and John Pasquin also named as executive producers alongside Jim Patterson, Bob Daily, and John Amodeo.
The series is American Pie franchise alum Scott’s first significant role in a multi-camera sitcom and follows starring roles on two Fox series: Lethal Weapon and Welcome To Flatch.
