Significant Risks From Lanning Give Oregon Ducks Victory Over Wisconsin Badgers – Game Highlights
Despite the pressure of this season’s unbeaten record heading into the game, Oregon ended the game by beating the Wisconsin Badgers 16-13 to improve to 11-0 for the first time since 2010.
Penalties remained an issue for the Ducks as Lanning made several risky decisions at Camp Randall on Saturday.
Oregon Ducks vs Wisconsin Badgers Game Highlights
The Ducks were called for seven penalties for 55 yards, and while coach Dan Lanning and his team didn’t pick up any style points, Oregon’s defense won the game in the final minutes by taking the advantage. Some of the biggest highlights from the victory included:
- Jordan James, despite health concerns, ended up with a career-high 25 rushing attempts for 121 yards and one touchdown and, for the first time in his career, broke the 1,000-yard barrier.
- Despite sitting out some games due to injury, Matayo Uiagalelei moved into a bigger role for this game, with five tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss, and an interception that sealed the game after being all over the field, making some of the hardest-hitting tackles of the game.
- With Tez Johnson out since his shoulder injury in the Michigan game, Evan Stewart became Dillon Gabriel’s go-to receiver, catching ten balls for 92 yards on 12 targets.
- Atticus Sappington went 3-for-3 on field goals of 35, 42, and 24 yards, which included the go-ahead kick with 2:36 left.

Dan Lanning maintained an aggressive mentality to keep rolling forward and took some risks again on 4th and 9 with the game hanging in the balance.
Trailing by seven points, Gabriel found Terrance Ferguson on one of the best pitches and catches this year, threading between multiple Badgers defenders.
Lanning was less successful later in the game when he called for a fake field goal rather than taking the points. Holder Ross James was stopped short of the first down, giving Wisconsin an opportunity to tie or win the game.
The next Oregon Ducks game is on Saturday, November 30, against the Washington Huskies at Autzen Stadium.
