Small Timber Crater Fire In Klamath County

 

KLAMATH COUNTY, Ore. — The National Interagency Fire Center reported a fire burning just north of Crater Lake National Park yesterday which was given the name, Timber Crater fire. The management of the fire falls under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service.

 

Fire In Crater Lake National Park

Burning east of Crater Lake Highway N., the Timber Crater fire started 12 miles West Southwest of Chemult, Oregon. It was last reported to cover a small area of 1 acre and was fueled by timber, logs, and duff.

In 2024, 39,594 fires covering 7,566,168 acres across Oregon were listed by the National Interagency Fire Center. No specific warnings have been issued on the Timber Crater fire by the authorities. They are currently attending to 28 fires across the state.

No evacuation orders or closure warnings have been issued. Additional information on the Timber Crater fire will be published when available.
